Grassroots Learning Built for Marion County

Education United Indy began as informal porch-table study sessions across central Indiana. We organize neighborhood learning rooms where notebooks, shared tools, and open doors replace administrative red tape.

Neighborhood Roots

Porch Tables Over Boardrooms

Our initiative took shape when local parents and mentors pooled reading materials on front steps across Indianapolis neighborhoods. We saw that durable literacy takes hold when resources live within walking distance of families.

Instead of waiting for distant grants or institutional approval, neighbors printed reading guides and hosted weekly study circles in community rooms, turning everyday domestic corners into shared workshops.

Working Principle

Every doorway opened in our neighborhoods stays propped open for the next learner who walks through.

Our Commitments

Public Trust and Solidarity

Access requires absolute institutional clarity. Every dollar, donated reference text, and volunteer hour remains cataloged under public Indiana nonprofit guidelines so our community partners know exactly how resources move through Marion County.

True neighborhood education relies on mutual respect rather than patronizing interventions. We work alongside existing neighborhood associations, faith pantries, and youth centers to reinforce the grassroots knowledge already present.
